Anti-aging skin management 101 is….protection from excessive sun exposure and damaging UV rays…and one in which many patients fail to consistently do. This has become easier over the past few years as many moisturizers and some makeup now contain them. What most people don’t realize is that most sunscreens do not block all UV rays equally well. Skin care essentials made with natural ingredients are an excellent choice all around.

Some products that are used to clean the skin contain harsh chemicals and can strip the skin of much-needed natural oils and moisture. The chemicals can also leave a detergent film behind which can irritate the skin and cause breakouts.

Causes of enlarged pores and remedies

Tuesday, October 14, 2008 2:30 No Comments

by Kethan Sri

What actually causes pores to enlarge?

When pore secretions “dry up” in the neck of the pore, the pore becomes clogged and new secretions accumulate behind the obstruction, causing an enlargement. When the obstruction is removed, the pore will return to normal size. However, if the pore neck has been stretched open for too long, the will remain large for a week or two, and will gradually close, according to nature.
Improper skincare can also add to the problem. Cleansing the skin with heavy creams or moisturizing with products containing waxes, oils and other fillers can leave a residue to collect in the pores.
