You depend on soap. It has been almost a daily factor in most of your life. The problem with normal soap is that it often contains irritants. Don’t let that be a problem for you though. Make your own soap. This article talks about soap and some of the things you should know about it.

The soaps that are regularly sold in stores were invented for one main reason. That is to break down and wash away oils and greases. That is exactly what soap does. It also does this to the oils and greases that are in your skin, and when this happens to your skin it becomes dry and brittle. Both of these conditions can be depended on to try and set off your itch scratch cycle.

Regular soaps also are also loaded with fragrances and colors which are popular skin irritants that are also likely to develop in you the sensation of itching.

The situation is however that you do not have to put up with regular soap that will damage your skin and make you sick with eczema. There are milder soaps that you can purchase, and there are milder soaps that you can make. It is not very difficult to do and the recipe for you to make your own natural soap follows.

For this formulation, you will need to blend 2 or more vegetable oils. You may want to make one of these oils olive oil, but any oil you want will do. You will also need to have a hydroxide to add to the blend depending on the type of soap you are trying to make. If you want a soft soap you will use potassium hydroxide. Sodium hydroxide is what is needed for hard soap.

Once you have your oils blended, you will heat them up to 100 degrees centigrade, and then add the hydroxide of your choice.

Two liquids will then be formed. One liquid will be the soap that you want and the other liquid will be glycerol. If you have no other use for the glycerol you can then dispose of it. The soap on the other hand you will pour into a mold and allow it to harden for a day or two. After this time, you will then be able to take your soap into the bath and use it to clean yourself with.

The soap you would have made will be non irritating and gentle on your skin. Using this soap on your skin will remove the threat that eczema sufferers have to face when dealing with regular soaps.
